I took a tissue sample from a rotting pumpkin for this fungi. The bottom of this fungi is a dark brown with some of the white/yellowish brownish surrounding it and top is a fluffy white, growth rate was medium, not super fast or slow.
I’m thinking this fungi is either Thielaviopsis basicola because its brown on the bottom and white on top, however my sample looks a bit different because the white is almost a pure white whereas thielaviopsis looks more like a brown tinged white. Or this fungi could be Cylindrocarpon destructans because it has a slight orange tinge on the bottom and pure white top, but cylindrocarpon looks more predominatenly orange where my fungi is predominantly brown on the bottom.
I think it’s closer to theilaviopsis because of the dark brown bottom.
