This colony was found on a healthy leaf off a diseased prayer plant plated on CMA.
The top is powdery and shows clear rings. It is a creamy white that changes to brown and then blue-green towards the edge. The growth pattern is clumpy or globby and not in a nice perfect circle. The bottom shows the same rings as the top and the color is creamy yellow in the center to white towards the edge. There is a very clear zone of inhibition around the colony leading me to believe it is producing anti-fungal compounds.
I believe this mold is Penicillium chrysogenum
