I sampled a small piece of leaf from this unknown plant in our garden. The majority of this plant seemed to be damaged because it has a lot of brown,white and green growth on it. There was not very much green healthy tissue. I can also see that the leaves are wilting and do not look healthy or firm. I took a small piece from a leaf that had this brown/white/green growth on it to see if it’s due to a fungal infection or not. If it is, I will expect to see some growth on the media once it’s plated. If it’s a fungal infection I expect to see medium to high growth. Is the plant already dead and being broken down into compost, or is it alive and being suffocated by an infection?
