The left plate has CMA and the right plate has PDA. I sampled water from a pond at a local park and the first thing that caught my attention was the colour difference between the things growing on both plates. On the CMA plate, there is only the same pale bacteria growing all over. The PDA plate has colonies turning orange, and even mutiple fuzzy colonies of fungi. This is quite surprising since I sampled the same spot in the lake in rapid succession. Since there is a greater diversity of colonies on the PDA plate, I believe it supports a wider range of organisms making it a better general media.
