On both of these plates, I plated soil from my money tree. In the PDA plate, there is a large amount of yellow growth. In the CMA plate, the growth takes on a more white colour. The CMA plate has slightly more visible colonies than the PDA plate, which barely has any single colonies. I believe that the PDA media is the better media for growth because there was a lot of growth in the time that I plated it, especially underneath the plate (I couldn’t take a picture because there was a lot of condensation). Whereas, when I flipped the CMA plate, there was barely any growth underneath. But, if our goal was to isolate single colonies, I would say that the CMA plate would be better for that.
