Sampled from a green leaf off of a tree outside my house. This fungi is white and furry, with the mycelium appearing to grow in the same direction similar to the way an animal’s fur looks after being brushed. It is white both on top and on the bottom of the plate. it covers a large amount of the plate so it likely has a fairly fast growth rate. Due to the colour and the texture, I think that this could be either Pythium irregulare or phytopthora megasperma, however looking at the examples given in our first lab I am inclined to think that this is likely to be Phythium irregulare due to that one appearing to be fluffier than the other. However, the directionality of the colony does make me have some doubt about this identification.
