The top half of the plates houses a swab taken from the fabric of the lounge seat found by the front door of my house. The bottom half has a swab sample of the floor found by the front door.
CMA has no visible fungi colonies for either sample, however PCA has a clearly visible mold growing from the lounge seat sample. The mold is grayish-white in colour, very fuzzy, and grew so large that it trespassed onto the bottom half of the plate. The floor sample on PCA didn’t show any fungi growth.
Since PCA was the only media to have any fungi growth, I conclude that it is a better media type for these samples.
