This sample was a 1/4 of a teaspoon garden soil diluted in 1 1/2 tbsp unchlorinated water. An 1/8 of a teaspoon of the suspension was put on each of the plates. Plate 15 is on CMA media and plate 16 PDA. The CMA plates shows almost no fungal growth and is mostly covered in bacteria. The PDA plate alternatively shows many small colonies of fungi of different types. This I believe shows a difference in the antibiotics used in the 2 medias, PDA media with stronger or better antibiotic allowing the fungi to grow easier not competing with as much bacteria. For this reason I would say the PDA media would be a better choice to look at soil samples.
