This mushroom was found off the side walk of a busy road. It’s growing in a cluster in grass.
Smooth even cap with hint of vertical lining. Cap is conical and bell shaped, the end flares out a bit. Gills appear to be freely attached. Gills are very close almost crowded together, and they are evenly spaced. Stem is slender and I think it was hollow ?
I think it’s the inky cap mushroom, coprinus atramentarius. Additional resources say it often grows in a cluster and has a silver dove grey colouration which is the same in this picture.
