These plates are soil samples taken from a pot on my balcony that contains a lavender plant. PDA is on the right and CMA is on the left. These plates were interesting because instead of variety, there is a very clear cut difference in growth. Both plates contain what looks to be the same white fungi, but the PDA plate has completely overtaken the plate, with much more growth compared to the CMA plate. There is no vertical growth on the CMA plate either, while the PDA plate’s colonies, content with taking over land have now taken over the sky, and have grown quite tall. PDA is the clear winner in this case, as it has allowed much faster growth when compared to CMA.
