This fungus was found growing in large patches all over the trunk of a tree on the sunshine coast. The caps are campanulate, with a smooth, shiny, straight appearance. The gills are a greyish colour and appear to be attached and narrow, with an even edge and close spacing. These mushrooms most closely resemble the smoky gilled wood lover, identified as being in the Strophariaceae family.
