I chose to take a sample from a kale leaf which was sitting in my fridge. This kale leaf was not healthy at all because it was not crisp and dark green like normal healthy kale. That is why I sampled it because the kale leaf was not holding it’s shape (not crisp) and was wilting, along with turning yellow at the edges. I sampled the yellowish green tissue which looked the most unhealthy from the whole kale leaf. I don’t exactly know how much fungal growth there will be, but probably more than a normal crisp dark green kale for sure. I am curious if the reason behind this kale turning yellow is a fungal infection because this was the first time I bought kale and it turned yellow, sad and “wilty”.
