This plate is the PDA plate of a rotting yellow chives sample (left), and a fresh sample (right). The mold I am trying to identify is the fluffy white one that covers the majority of the plate. The growth rate for this mold seems to be relatively fast, especially compared to some of the other molds from my other plates. The mold from the top has a strong white color, and has a very fluffy texture. The mold from the bottom of the plate does not have the fluffy texture, and has a yellowish color instead of pure white. From this information, I believe this mold is Clonostachys rosea, since its characteristics match very closely. There are some differences such as certain black patches, and some brown outlining on some of the molds on the plate. These patches are most likely molds from a different species mixed in with Clonostachys rosea.
