The left side of each plate contains a swab from a wooden fence which is compared to a swab of a metal fence on the right sides. The petri dish on the right contains PDA and the petri dish on the left contains CMA. For some reason, there is great bacterial growth but barely any fungal growth on the CMA plate, while the opposite occurs on the PDA plate. It was raining heavily while I collected samples for both plates, so maybe something extra dropped into the CMA plate. This would lead to the bacteria out-competing the fungi. However, I could see a few bacterial colonies hidden at the bottom in my PDA plate. This leads me to believe PDA is a better growth medium for fungi and CMA is better for bacteria.
