These media plates contain a water sample from a muddy puddle outside my house. There is way more growth of colonies on the PDA plate than the CMA plate. The CMA plate only contains very small white colonies and that even in lower amounts compared to the PDA plate. Whereas, the PDA plate has a lot of growth of different types of fungal colonies (white, black, yellow, orange, and peachy brown). The colonies are also larger in size on the PDA plate and on the CMA plate the colonies look more like specks of white dots. I think the PDA media is better for this sample because there was more growth of colonies (in amount) and more different types of fungal colonies were able to grow on the PDA plate (CMA only had one type of colonies – so no variety seen on the CMA media).
