On the left side of each plate is tree bark from a nearby park, and on the right side is from a piece of a bamboo skewer used to support tomato plants. For both of the samples (tree bark and bamboo), the growth in CMA is relatively slower compared to growth in PDA. The CMA sample also appears more “patchy”, while the PDA sample is growing more evenly. I’d have to say the PDA is the better media because it appears to be more nutritious for both fungi.
