I took swab samples from my dog, specifically one from her ear and one from between her toes. She runs around outside with bare paws, so I thought perhaps she was carrying some interesting spores. As well, she has a history of yeast infection in her ears, so I was interested to see if our cleaning routine was effective. I expect to see high fungal growth from her feet because I swabbed her feet just after a walk before I wiped them off. I expect low to moderate growth from her ear because I know there is a small, expected level of yeast in a dog’s ear which is fine. She doesn’t have any symptoms of an ear infection though so I doubt there will be lots.
