This is one of my favourite plates so far! This has a sample from some really moldy cheese on the left side, and a piece of leaf from my spider plant on the right side. The growth patterns are really interesting! The pink fungi from the spider plant is clearly growing much better on the CMA plate, but the fungi from the cheese are growing better on the PDA plate. There are also more visible colonies of the white fungus on the PDA plate, whereas on the CMA plate there seems to be some but they’re all sort of layered on top of each other. I think in this case, neither media is necessarily “better”, since the pink fungus prefers the CMA and the green and white fungi prefer the PDA.
