1) I am focusing on the mold that I circled in red. This material is soil near the water tank on Burnaby Mountain (I mixed it with 10mL tap water). It is plated on my PDA plate.
2) The fungi I circled has spread all around the plate but in small colonies that are somewhat spaced out from each other. The colour is greenish grey and it looks sort of fuzzy.
3) I think this fungi could be Penicillium chrysogenum because they are both greenish is colour and look slightly furry. There is also a sizeable bit of uncolonized area on the plate near the red circle, supporting the thought that the fungi could be producing antibiotics. However, my fungi lacks that white edges this fungi usually has, so it may not be Penicillium.
