1) The source was a rotting pear that I found in the living room, it had been sitting there for quite a while, I used the top part of the pear as the sample, since the top part looked moldy and felt mushy, I got another fresh pear as the comparison 2) I used this source because it was already starting to rot, as indicated by the mushy texture of the pear, and the discoloration of it 3) I would expect to see high fungal growth in this sample, since the pear has already started to break down, which would be an indicator for lots of fungal growth in the pear
