The plates contain samples from rotten yellow chives, and fresh yellow chives. The left plate is the CMA media, and the right plate is the PDA media. For both PDA and CMA plates, the left side contains the fresh samples, and the right side contains the rotten samples. Although the CMA plate seems like it covers more area, the rotten sample in the PDA plate is placed more towards the edge of the plate, so it is slightly misleading. Through judging the size of the blackish area of the fungi, the PDA plate seems to have a greater growth compared to the CMA plate. Overall, in terms of growing for fungi, PDA seems like the better media, since there was a wider area of growth on the PDA plate.
