This fungi was isolated from a sample of moss I collected from Burns Bog. It was one of my slower growing fungi’s and took a couple more days than others before I started to see any growth but now it has taken over the majority of my plate. It is fluffy white on both sides and appears to have grown up from the surface of the plate to reach the top. It is possible for this fungi to belong to the genus Pythium or Phytophthora as both fungi are white and fluffy on both sides like the one isolated on this plate. It is does not belong to other genus like Rhizopus or Mucor because while they are white on one side (with Mucor being that same fluffy white) they do have colour. Mucor is brown/yellow, and Rhizopus has black spots.
