This mold on this CMA plate is from a piece of romaine lettuce. It is a light pink colour on both the top and bottom with a white fuzz throughout. The mold is growing straight out of the lettuce sample and extending out, away from the other molds on the plate. It is quite flat and not very thick. It appeared quite quickly and has grown an average amount in the past couple of weeks, covering about a quarter of the plate. It seems like this mold may be Fusarium oxysporum based on the appearance and also because it is a plant pathogen so it would make sense to appear on a lettuce sample.
