On the left of each plate is a section of a leaf, and the right has a piece of fig. The right petri dish contains PDA, and the left contains CMA. The difference in growth rate is evident, as one plate has pigmented spores, while the other has only recently covered the plate in mycelia. Although not all the same fungi grow on both plates, the PDA plate definitely has more nutrients. You can tell by the separation of pigmented spores which came from both sources on the right plate.
