These plates are halved with a rotten pear’s flesh on the left and a single leaf of parsley on the right. CMA plate is on the left and PDA plate is on the right. There is a huge amount of growth from the pear in the PDA plate, which is almost overtaking the entire plate with no regard for how the parsley feels. The growth from the parsley is not as large in the PDA plate as compared to the CMA plate, probably due to competition from the white fungi that is taking over. In the pear side on the CMA, we see a yellow-gold fungi growing very slowly and pink colony near the parsley, both not present on the PDA plate. For sheer growth rate, I would consider PDA better, but it depends on the type of fungi you want to isolate.
