On the left side of the plate (or the lower one in the photo) I plated half a leaf from my thai basil plant that’s doing swell (called good basil) and on the other side I plated half a leaf from my other thai basil plant that’s having a rough time. (called bad basil) It seems that on both plates, the fungi that are growing are similar, but the fungal growth on the PDA is more than the CMA. Also, in the CMA, we see in the bad basil leaf that there are some other types of fungi that are growing when compared to the PDA. I would argue from this photo that the PDA is better since the fungus grew faster, and it grew less types of fungus which will help is faster growth and isolation of specific fungi. The faster growth can show results from experiments much faster and the isolation can help against contamination.
