This little lamb’s ear (Stachys byzantina (lanata)) shrub in my front garden is showing some browning on its leaves, even though the care & maintenance information on the plant card says that it’s hardiness is -34°C. Because it’s a perennial plant and should last throughout the winter, I was hoping to find out if it was a fungal infection that was causing these leaves to brown and wilt. I expect there to be a high number of fungi from this sample as it’s exposed to the air outside and there may also be fungi growing within the leaf tissues. I sampled one of the browning leaves.
