The two samples on these plates are sourced from the dust of a window sill and the walnuts bought from the bulk section of a grocery store. Both media have similar growth, with some minor differences in fungal colony size. However, what is a little harder to see is that the PDA plate (bottom) has a speckled cotton candy-like fungus growing over the entire plate. For this reason, I would say that the PDA provides a better growth medium compared to CMA (top) since it has supported a wider array of fungal growth with one fungus doing surprisingly better than all the rest.
