The source for these plates was soil from inside of a decaying log which had hoof fungus growing on it. On the left is the PDA media and on the right is the CMA media. Both of these molds are growing particularly well on the plates, and are quite tall. There doesn’t seem to be a huge difference between these two plates, however the mold on the PDA media seems to be covering more of the plate than the one on the CMA. It is also supporting one more kind of mold (blue on the bottom left of the plate) than the CMA media is. For these reasons I speculate that the PDA media is better than the CMA for this mold.
