On the left side of the plates, I plated pieces of a dead log. On the right sides of the plates, I plated petal pieces from a dead flower. From looking at the plates, it’s obvious that the sample from the dead log grew rapidly in the PDA plate (more widespread growth). Whereas, the dead pieces of a flower grew much better in the CMA plate (evident by the white mycelium). I also think that dead log sample on the PDA plate may have grew faster because I accidentally put a larger sample on that plate compared to the CMA plate. Because of this, I think that either media is good for the growth of the dead log but the CMA plate is better for the growth of the dead petal pieces (because there was more and faster growth in that plate).
