These two plates contain a sample of ground coffee beans, which had been sitting in the coffee machine, the last couple of days. The left plate contains the coffee beans in CMA, while the right plate contains the beans in PDA. Both plates have minimum fungal growth. Surprisingly, though, the CMA plate seems to be experiencing more growth than the PDA plate, as there are more and larger patches of what appears to mycelium around the coffee. Although, not present in the picture the PDA plate also contains what appears to be fluffy white mycelia not seen in the CMA plate. Due to the larger and more numerous patches on the CMA plate, however, I would say so far, that CMA is the better media for fungi from coffee.
