These plates both have samples from my compost bin on them, along with a piece of maple leaf (that is probably not contributing much to the fungi). The growth on the PDA plate is far higher than the growth on the CMA plate, and on the PDA plate there are also many small black spores visible which are not present on the CMA plate. Clearly for this fungus, PDA is a better media.
