This blob was found growing on a fallen log by the Capilano Canyon trail. Its features do not fall into any of the characteristics we reviewed in the visual keys lab. However, it has an orange/red tough exterior with a white underbelly. This red belted polypore goes by the scientific name of Fomitopsis Pinicola.
