On the left side, there is a piece of leaf from my strawberry plant. On the right side, there is a piece of leaf from some wild blackberry plants. The pink fungus from the blackberry leaf is growing much better on the PDA plate, and the yellow-peachy fungus from the strawberry leaf is also growing much better on the PDA plate. One interesting thing is that the CMA plate has some visible bacterial colonies, whereas the PDA plate does not have any bacterial colonies, which may account for why the fungi are growing better on the PDA plate. In this case, the PDA media is better for both types of fungi that are visible.
