I took a sample from my bedroom air (I have a lot of plants and do some urban farming so I thought it would be interesting). The PDA media is on the left here, and the CMA is on the right. These samples were taken at the same time from the same location, but seem to have very different makeups. The PDA media has larger colonies of a blue mold that seem to be very successful. The CMA media has numerous colonies, but smaller and of many different species (I counted at least 4 species). It is hard to say which media is better here, since PDA allows for successful growth of one species, but CMA is supporting less growth but many different kinds of mold. Overall I would say that CMA is the better media here because it has a lot of mold growth from many different kinds of molds.
