This mushroom was found in North Vancouver, on a hike to Norvan Falls in Lynn Valley. It was growing on the ground at the base of a Hemlock tree. It is porous and has a pulvinate cap, which is evenly rounded. It’s cap margin is even and regular, with a granular or sericeous looking texture. The attachment of the stem is central, and the stem itself is slightly tapering towards the cap. The texture of the stem is fibrous. I believe the species is Boletus mirabilis, common name is Admirable Bolete.
