On each of these plates, I plated a mold from different bread sources. On the left, we have mold found on a neglected pack of 12-grain bagels. On the right-hand side, we have mold found on an expired loaf of pumpernickel bread.
Interestingly, each of the samples appear to have different growth patterns, with the bagel mold being more spotty with defined colonies and the bread mold having a more uniform growth. That being said, for both of the molds on these plates, there is evidently more growth on the PDA plate (the plate with the red star above), and therefore it appears that both these fungi prefer this media.
