For these plates, I left them open next to my garden for an hour to see how many fungi are present in the air (the plants in the garden were dying so that might explain why there are so many fungi on the plates). In both the plates, you can see a large diversity of fungi. I would say that both of the plates have at least 7 different types of fungi although there are some differences. In the PDA plate, you can see this fungi that is an orangey-red colour that is not present in the CMA plate. In the CMA plate there is white fungus with like dark speckles in the centre of it that is not on the PDA plate. There’s also seems to be more bacteria in the CMA plate compared to the PDA plate. In terms of which plate is better, I would say that both of them are equally good for fungi growing in the air, as you can see a large variety of fungi on the plates. However, it looks like the colonies on the PDA plate tend to be larger so in terms of fungal growth, the PDA plate might be better.
