-I isolated fungi from the brown freckles, the peel, of this banana. It was stored outside in this plastic bag and bought from my local Walmart. This banana was bought a week ago and was all green before with no freckles or other discoloration.
-I believe the tissue was on its way to getting damaged, due to the green to yellow color change and brown dots, however it is still healthy enough to eat, as many individuals make banana bread from ripe bananas.
-I expect to see high fungal growth since food rots easily over time, which is why in Surrey, organics pick up is every week. Otherwise we would be able to buy groceries way in advance and never have them rot. Also seen the ripeness already occurred within one week, it should show high fungi growth.
