I took of sample from the backsplash of my family’s kitchen sink. We use this sink many many times a day and inevitably get water onto the tiles, so I thought there would be a lot of opportunity for organisms to take hold and grow here since it gets wetted often. I’m not too sure that there would be a lot of fungi per-say, as there isn’t much of a medium for them to grow on. But there’s probably a wack-load of bacteria because of all the items we wash and objects introduced from the outside. I think there will be low-medium fungal growth.
