This sample was taken from two trees in my backyard, one being an alive cherry tree and the other being a (I believe to be dead) cherry tree. The difference in growth is pretty significant, as we see both fungi have grown a lot more on the PDA plate (the other side shows a lot of growth too, I just had trouble getting a good picture). I feel it should be obvious that if I wanted to get a bunch of whatever this is PDA would be the way to go (but if I wanted to grow it slower for isolation I would use CMA)
