A six month old potato and a fresh apple from the same refrigerator were sampled. The sampled tissue included the skin and a bit of flesh directly under it. The CMA (left) plate has small colonies that are white in colouration. The PDA (right) plate has large colonies that are brown in colouration. The PDA plate appears to exhibit better growth as the fungi in the plate is larger and have produced secondary metabolites, indicating its maturity.
