1. I took three different leaf samples from the plants at my grandparent’s garden. The top center sample is the only plant which I knew the name of (Christmas Cactus). The right and left samples are from plants of unknown identity.
2. The mold growth on the CMA plate seems to be a lot duller in colour and appears to contain less types of mold as well. The PDA plate is vibrant with colour and diverse in mold types. The CMA plate is also mostly covered with a grey fuzz whereas the PDA plate demonstrates “clean” growth of the molds with little overlapping.
3. The PDA plate is the better media for these plant leaf samples as it supports more variety of mold growth, and the molds are separated from each other for easier identification.
