For these plates, I put a piece of pinecone on the left side of the plates and a piece of a seed pod from a deciduous tree on the right side of the plates. There seems to be more fungal colonies growing on the CMA plates compared to the PDA plates. There also seems to be a larger diversity of fungi growing on the CMA plates, although there is also bacteria growing on it. In the PDA media, you can also see a really large fungal colony from the seed pod that has taken over half of the plate, and in general, it looks the the colonies in PDA are larger than the ones in the CMA. In terms of fungal diversity, I think the CMA media is better, as there is lots of different fungi growing on this plate.
