Gilled mushroom. Found growing out of the ground covered in old pine needles near the base of a tree near alice lake in July (I just thought it was really cool looking and wanted to use it here)

Stem surface – smooth
Potential ID – an Amanita species, potentially Amanita gemmata . Has a few scales remaining on the cap (not shown here), the annulus ring and the light yellow cap consistent with Amanita gemmata. It was also found in a forested area, where they are known to be found (flora and fauna of coastal BC)
