This growth is from a sample of mold taken from a wooden hand fan. It had darker green/brown/black spots on it. The growth has spread very fast, and it consists of white, fuzzy, light growth. On the tips of the mycelia I notice black spots. The mold looks like it could be Rhizopus stolonifera because it has white mycelia with black spots that form on the top of the strands. However, it has a chance of being Sclerotia cepivorum because the growth on the plate has tiny black sclerotia growing all over brownish white mycelia. From the images, I’d make an educated guess that it’s most likely Rhizopus stolonifera.
