I found this group of mushrooms in Queens Park in New Westminster. They were growing on a dead tree that was still erect, type of tree not known. The cap shape is convex with an even or split cap margin. The cap has appressed scales, and the gills attach freely (remote/close). The breadth of the gills is broad, and the gills are close and even. Stems attach centrally, and are radicating from a central spot of growth. Stem appears fibrous. These mushrooms are most likely Pholiota squarrosa adiposa, or it’s common name is Fat pholiota.
