1) This is a fallen log on Burnaby Mountain. It look moderately rotten and I sampled a wood chip from it. 2) The whole log was patched with healthy and rotten parts, but the sample I took looked healthy (for a fallen log) and moist. 3) I expect to see low to moderate fungi growth because the chip seemed relatively healthy, but also was moist which is a good habitat for fungi.
