This orange has been in the fridge for who knows how long and I only sampled the part of the peel that was discolored. That part of the tissue looked like it was probably damaged and possibly starting to rot due to the darker color and mushier texture. I expect to see a considerable amount of fungal growth from it due to how it has started to decompose.
