I took a dirt sample from inside this decaying log which had a hoof fungus on it. I chose this because I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of molds might be responsible for decay of a log, if any. I believe that it will have high fungal growth because it already has fungus growing on it and it has been decaying for what seems like a long time and likely has collected many different molds from the air and or dirt.
